INEC Failed to Produce Witness ,Beg Court for Another Date


At the resume hearing of the Kogi State Governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Abuja ,the counsel to the first respondents failed to call witnesses to botress the victory of the candidate of the All progressive Congress ( APC) Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo as the winner of the election.


The first respondent is independent national electoral commission ( INEC) that declared Ododo as the winner of the 11th Nov.2023 kogi governorship election.
Instead ,the counsel ,Barr Unchena appy for the tendering of various forms used for the conduct of the election.


While the 2nd and 3rd respondent do not object to the admissibility of the said documents, counsel to the petitioner,PA Akubo SAN objected to the admissibility of the documents and emphasized that , his reasons will be communicated to the court during the written address.


The court adjourned to 16th April 2024 for continuation of defence and warned parties and counsel not to delay the previous time of the court as they are expected to deliver judgement on or before 29th May 2024.
