Guardiola reveals why Cole Palmer left Man City

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has taken responsibility for Cole Palmer’s departure from the club last summer.

Manchester City cashed in on the midfielder for £42.5 million.

The 21-year-old has gone on to score 20 Premier League goals for Chelsea in his first season at Stamford Bridge.

And now the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has provided a major reason for Palmer’s departure.

Ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Manchester City, Pep Guardiola spoke about Palmer, who scored four goals against Everton on Monday.

“He was asking for two seasons to leave Man City. I said: stay. He wanted to leave. What can we do?,” he said.

“He’s an exceptional player with super potential. I didn’t give him the minutes he deserves that he now has at Chelsea.”
