British broadcaster, Piers Morgan has accused Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag of failing to manage ‘world-class’ players after Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho left the club under acrimonious circumstances.
In a tweet on X, Morgan criticised the Dutchman for being unable to handle difficult personalities, resulting in Ronaldo’s departure in late 2022 and Sancho’s public disagreement with the manager earlier this season.
He suggested that Ten Hag’s mismanagement was the real problem at the club, with the likes of Rashford struggling to perform under his leadership while Ronaldo and Sancho played brilliantly elsewhere.
He tweeted yesterday: “The fact that Ronaldo and now Sancho are playing brilliantly away from United, and Rashford is struggling while still with them, suggests the real problem at the club isn’t ‘difficult’ world class players but a manager who doesn’t know how to handle them.”
Meanwhile, Sancho is expected to return to Man United at the end of the season when his loan deal with Dortmund expires.
