Aba killing: Otti visits slain soldier’s family

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has visited the mother of Cpl Lucky Ikechukwu Ikpeama, one of the soldiers killed by unidentified gunmen at Obikabia Junction, Obingwa LGA of Abia State.

The late Ikpeama was an indigene of Nvosi village in Isialangwa South LGA, where the governor also hails from.

The deceased left a young wife and a four month-old- baby.

Otti, during the visit, commiserated with the family of the late soldier, particularly the aged mother who was in tears over the loss of her son.

He also reiterated his promise that the State Government would take up the responsibility of training the children of the slain soldiers on scholarship up to university level.

The family of the slain Army officer informed the governor that Thursday, June 13, 2024, had been slated for the soldier’s burial.

They said they had applied and received approval from the Army authorities to bury the corpse.
