Kaduna Assembly confirms Hajara KADSIECOM chairperson

Kaduna State House of Assembly has confirmed Hajara Muhammad as chairperson of the State’s Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM).

The appointments of Noel Haruna and Fatima Kera were also confirmed by the House as permanent commissioners of the commission.

Muhammad’s confirmation comes on the heels of her appointment as chairperson of KADSIECOM by Uba Sani, governor of the state.

Muhammad has been on the payroll of KADSIECOM since 2002 after earning a higher national diploma (HND) in tourism at the Kaduna Polytechnic in 1999.

She also bagged a postgraduate diploma in International Studies and Diplomacy in 2004 at the same institution.

Muhammad has a master’s degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

Muhammad promised to improve the professionalism of the state’s electoral agency while speaking with newsmen after her confirmation.

She said, “we will ensure that our ad hoc staff are well trained and our permanent staff improve their professionalism while being transparent and inclusive.”
