NNPCL to roll out 100 additional CNG stations in Nigeria

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has announced that an additional 100 Compressed Natural Gas stations will be rolled out nationwide in the next twelve months.

Managing Director, NNPC Retail Limited, Huub Stokman disclosed this on Thursday at an inauguration of 11 CNG stations simultaneously across locations in Abuja and Lagos.

He said CNG will be 40 percent cheaper than Premium Motor Spirit, known as petrol to Nigerians.

“CNG will be about 40 percent cheaper than petrol in Nigeria. And with continued investments, it could become a significant part of our energy mix.

“In the next 12 months, NNPC Retail will have launched over 100 CNG sites,” he said,

Recall that in August 2023, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, PCNGI, to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal in June last year.
