Miyetti Allah Rejects Planned National Protest, Cites Government’s Efforts to Address Concerns

In a surprise move, the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani Socio-Cultural Association has announced its opposition to the planned national protest, citing the government’s efforts to address their concerns and challenges. The association has expressed gratitude for the establishment of the Ministry of Livestock Development, a move they see as a significant step towards recognizing the importance of livestock farming in Nigeria.

The association’s leadership has urged their members and supporters to refrain from participating in the protest, opting instead to give the government’s initiatives a chance to yield positive results.

“On Sunday, in Abuja, Engr. Saleh Alhassan, National Secretary of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani Socio-Cultural Association, issued a statement expressing the association’s strong support for the newly established Ministry of Livestock Development. The association hailed the ministry as a significant step towards revolutionizing the sector, anticipating that it will promote global best practices, introduce modern techniques, and contribute to food security, job creation, and rural development.”

“The Fulani Association has urged its members to abstain from participating in the planned protest. While acknowledging the legitimate frustrations and grievances of many Nigerians, the association firmly believes that peaceful dialogue and constructive engagement with authorities are more effective and sustainable means of addressing challenges.

Furthermore, Miyetti Allah has called on security agencies to adopt a more proactive and non-kinetic approach in addressing the complex security challenges facing Nigeria. The association emphasizes the need for a comprehensive and inclusive strategy that involves key stakeholders and addresses the root causes of insecurity, rather than just its symptoms.”

They stressed the importance of building trust and cooperation with local communities, safeguarding the rights and livelihoods of pastoralists, and integrating them into broader security and development frameworks. By doing so, social cohesion can be promoted, and the marginalization of any group prevented.

The association reiterated their commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace, stability, and development in Nigeria. They believe that a collaborative and multifaceted approach is essential in addressing the country’s security challenges and ensuring a harmonious and secure environment for all.

This announcement marks a significant shift in the association’s stance, as it seeks to engage in collaborative efforts with the government to achieve shared goals. With this development, it is clear that Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani Socio-Cultural Association is committed to supporting progressive initiatives and promoting peaceful means of addressing challenges in Nigeria
