Amuneke relieved after Heartland end winless streak

Heartland head coach, Emmanuel Amuneke has admitted he is relieved after the Naze Millionaires recorded their first win of the season.

The Owerri club defeated Niger Tornadoes 2-0 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium on Sunday to end their barren run.

Michael Ogu scored both goals for the former Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions in the matchday 5 encounter.

Heartland recorded one draw and three defeats from their previous four outings.

Amuneke said: “I am happy for the players.

“We deserved this moment of joy.

“It has given us a relief and it will give us the confidence going into our next the match against El Kanemi.”
