The Igbo Public Officer’s Forum in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, have reiterated the need for unity among all Igbo civil servants in Abuja, Nigeria and by extension all Igbo speaking people in the diaspora.
This was the central message at the association’s 2024 end-of-year celebration, which held recently at Dr. Ezekiel Oyemomi Auditorium, Ministry of Defence, Ship House in Abuja over the weekend.
The fun-filled event, marked with cultural display, awards ceremony for sons and daughters who have contributed to the growth and empowerment of widows and less privileged also staged a renewed call for purposeful leadership in Nigeria and South East in particular.
President of the forum, Mrs Uchennaya Anekwe said the group is a socio cultural organization of Igbo public officer’s in FCT, whose aim is to promote Unity, love and support among Igbo in public service.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, mni represented by the Director Human Resource, Idris Shehu Gaya, mni in his keynote address congratulated the President and all members of the Igbo Public Officer’s Forum for consciously awakening a socio-cultiral organization like this which he believes will inculcate in members those moral values required today for building a well-cultured and better society.
Kana urge members to rally around Uchennaya Anekwe’s administration, assuring them of inclusive leadership that would not only prioritize their welfare but also uphold their values and promote their cultural heritage as a people.
