Atiku has not joined SDP – Aide

Abdul Rasheeth, a Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has said his principal has not joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Rasheeth said this while dismissing a social media post stating that the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dumped the party for the SDP.

The post wondered why Atiku took the decision when there was ongoing merger talk with former presidential candidates, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the Labour Party (LP) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), respectively.

In response, Rasheeth shared on X, “Disregard the misinformation! Atiku Abubakar has neither joined nor is joining the SDP. This baseless speculation is a deliberate attempt to mislead.”
