The Federal Government has declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9 public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the dates on behalf of the Federal Government. He congratulated all Muslims, both at home and in the Diaspora, on the occasion.

The minister urged the Muslim Ummah to continue to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice and faith as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon him) and to use the period to pray for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

In a statement by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the minister assured Nigerians that the people-oriented reforms and initiatives being implemented in furtherance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda would restore Nigeria to the path of progress.

Wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-ul-Adha celebration, Tunji-Ojo urged all Nigerians to join hands with the present administration in restoring the nation’s glory for greater accomplishments.
