Suicide not an option, says Funke Akindele

Filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has stressed on the importance of speaking up and seeking help, especially when struggling with thoughts of suicide.

On Instagram, she encourages individuals to prioritise their well-being and reminds them that they are stronger than they think, braver than they feel, and loved more than they know.

In a world where mental health struggles can often feel isolating, Funke’s words offer a beacon of hope.

She emphasises that silence can be deadly, but words can save, highlighting the importance of open conversation and support.

Funke wrote: “Let them say you’re oversharing!! Let them think you talk too much!! But speak up!!! Because when you’re alive, there’s solution. Silence can be deadly, but words can save. You are stronger than you think. You are braver than you feel. You are loved more than you know. Speak up, stay alive!! #suicidenotheoption #notosuicide”.
