A group, Tinubu/Sylva APC Bayelsa Vanguard has staged a solidarity walk on Monday, in various parts of Yenegoa, Bayelsa state capital, in support of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Governo, Chief Timiprye Sylva.
The leader and convener of the group, Comrade John Ayebabomote Birakumo, during the rally, said Chief Timiprye Sylva, as one of the founding fathers of the APC, has made lots of sacrifices as opposition leader and remain a committed leader of the party.
He said: “We are raising awareness to alert Bayelsans and the entire APC family that Chief Timiprye Sylva remains a committed and visionary leader of the APC.
“He contested the last election under its platform and has sacrificed immensely to build and strengthen the party, even when others were wining and dining with the PDP and other parties.”
Comrade Birakumo further said his group was undeterred by the political motivated persecution of the former Governor.
“We are undeterred by the politically motivated persecution of Chief Sylva, knowing full well it is orchestrated by his detractors and political adversaries who fear his monumental influence not only in the state but across the region and nation.
“Chief Sylva is a true democrat and statesman who has significantly contributed to Nigeria’s development. His unwavering dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reflects his commitment to progress, unity, and national advancement.
“All the naysayers should continue with their futile shenanigans as the people’s voice for Sylva remains stronger than ever.”
He added that the rally was just the beginning.
“Many more rallies to drum up support for both Chief Timiprye Sylva and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be held weekly across Bayelsa.
“We call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to disregard the malicious whispers from Bayelsa’s enemies, who are hellbent on spreading falsehoods and creating needless political tension. The people of Bayelsa stand united behind these leaders and their vision for a brighter future.”
