NUJ FCT Council Marks One-Year Anniversary, Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Hall Remodelling

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, will on Thursday, December 4, 2025, mark the one-year anniversary of the Comrade Grace Ike–led Executive Council with a special event that includes the groundbreaking ceremony for the remodelling of the Council Hall.

The celebration, organised under the slogan ā€œOne Voice, New Era,ā€ is part of efforts to reflect on the achievements of the administration while unveiling new developmental projects aimed at enhancing the Union’s working environment and service delivery.

According to a notice signed by the Secretary of Council, Comrade Jide Oyekunle, members of the NUJ FCT Council have been cordially invited to grace the ceremony, scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. prompt at the NUJ FCT Secretariat, Utako, Abuja.

He stated that the groundbreaking for the remodelling project represents a significant phase of renewal and infrastructural transformation for the Council, noting that the initiative aligns with the leadership’s commitment to improving welfare, operational efficiency, and the professional capacity of journalists within the FCT.

Oyekunle added that the presence of members would not only honour the milestones recorded in the past year but also demonstrate collective support for the continued development of the Union.

The Grace Ike-led administration, inaugurated in 2024, has embarked on numerous reforms and programmes aimed at strengthening unity, professionalism, and accountability within the NUJ FCT Council, with the remodelling of the Council Hall expected to further reinforce these goals.
