The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended its nationwide membership e-registration exercise by one week, shifting the deadline from January 31st to February 8th, 2026, while fixing its National Convention for March 27th and 28th, 2026.
The decision was announced Friday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, while briefing newsmen after the 183rd meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) at the party’s National Secretariat.
Morka said the extension was approved to accommodate the growing number of party members who are yet to complete the digital registration process, adding that the exercise had continued to record impressive participation nationwide.
The APC spokesman also revealed further that “With respect to the e-registration, there’s no complicated explanation. We just want more members to register.
“We’re responding to the clamor by enthusiastic members who are hoping to register, to afford them more time. As of now, we have crossed the mark of seven million and by the grace of God, by the time we are closing on the 8th of February, we should have crossed the mark of 12.5 million.”
On the congresses, Morka said: “We will have exceptions for the following states: Osun State, Ekiti State, the Federal Capital Territory, and Rivers State will be excluded from the upcoming Congress.
“We urge our members to continue to mobilise those who are yet to register, to register given this extension that the National Committee has just granted.
“The National Working Committee also approved the composition of the coordinating committee for our National Convention. That we believe will be published on Monday, so we can have the full list of membership and chairmanship of that committee.
“All of the changes and adjustments that we’ve made to the Congress schedule will also be published on Monday and made available to you.”
