Malabu Rejects Atiku’s Claims On OPL 245, Says He Has No Authority On Company Affairs

Malabu Oil and Gas rejects Atiku’s comments regarding OPL 245 dispute, insisting he has no authority to speak on its behalf.

Malabu Oil and Gas Limited has rejected statements by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on the OPL 245 dispute, insisting he has no ownership stake in the company and is not authorised to speak on its behalf.

In a statement, the company said its ownership structure is strictly defined by Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) records and is not linked to Mohammed Abacha or Pecos Limited.

It added that claims by third parties regarding ownership have been dismissed in previous court rulings.

Malabu also referenced the federal government’s 2011 settlement over OPL 245, saying engagement has only been with lawful shareholders.

It maintained that ongoing court actions by Mohammed Abacha and others do not confer any ownership rights, and urged the public to rely on official records in assessing the dispute.
