Thailand Delegation Inspects Site For Thai-Nigeria Agricultural Technology Centre In Enugu

Thai officials have visited the Federal Cooperative College to inspect the proposed site for Thai-Nigeria Sustainable Agricultural Technology Learning Centre.

A joint team of officials from the Kingdom of Thailand have visited the Federal Cooperative College (FCCO), Oji River, Enugu State, to inspect the proposed site for Thai-Nigeria Sustainable Agricultural Technology Learning Centre.

The team led by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Nigeria, Mr Thirapath Mongtolnaun who were at the college took time to inspect the initial two hectares of land mapped out for the project.

The team from the Embassy of Thailand in Nigeria also included officials of Kasetsart University (KU) in Thailand and Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA).

The Thai-Nigeria Sustainable Agricultural Technology Learning Centre is a South-south collaborative framework between Federal Cooperative College (FCCO), KU and TICA.

The Provost and Chief Executive Officer of FCCO, Dr Jude Ejikeme Obidiegwu who welcome the officials led them through the inspection of the site, stating that the two hectares is an initial site mapped out of 22 hectares reserved for the project, saying that as the centre expands, the college will be ready to donate more land.

Officials of Kasetsart University (KU), Thailand and Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) during the visit made a presentation on “The project for strengthening collaboration in technology for catfish breeding and agriculture for sustainable development in the Republic of Nigeria”.

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Nigeria, Mr Thirapath Mongtolnaun who led the team said the Thai government is pleased to collaborate with the institution, saying that the project will enhance the training of youths in agriculture and also boost food production.
