Galadima to emerge as Adamawa APC guber candidate as 3 aspirants step down

The coast is now clear for likely emergence of Ahmed Galadima Aminu as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, following the withdrawal of three aspirants in his favour ahead of the party’s primary election holding today.

Those who announced their withdrawal include Engr. Diaulhaq Abubakar, Comrade Mustapha Salihu and Alhaji Ibrahim Thul.

Announcing his decision to step down for Ahmed Galadima Aminu, Engr Abubakar described the move as necessary for party unity and progress.

He called on his supporters across the state to rally round Galadima and accord him the needed support to succeed in the task ahead.

Engr Abubakar pledged the sum of N200 and all his campaign offices for the Galadima campaign.

In the same development, Comrade Mustapha Salihu also stepped down from the governorship race in the interest of unity within the party.

He thereafter declared his intention to contest for the Adamawa Central Senatorial seat, emphasizing that the success and stability of the APC remains above personal ambition.

Galadima, who paid a thank-you visit Wednesday evening to the immediate past National Vice Chairman of the APC, thanked Comrade Mustapha for his selflessness and leadership, promising to work with him to advance the interest of Adamawa State. He also wished Mustapha well as he now vie for Adamawa Central Senatorial seat.

Similarly, another aspirant, Ibrahim Bello Thul, in what he described as a spirit of sportsmanship, also shelved his governorship ambition in favour of Ahmed Galadima Aminu.

Thul, noted that Galadima remains a unifying figure capable of bringing together party faithful and advancing the collective interest of the APC in Adamawa State.

Political observers say the latest endorsements and withdrawals are indications of growing confidence and support for Ahmed Galadima Aminu’s candidature as the APC prepares for future electoral contests in the state.
