Nollywood Actor Joseph Momodu Joins US Army

Nollywood actor Joseph Momodu has announced his enlistment in the US Army after completing 10 weeks of basic combat training.

Nollywood actor Joseph Momodu has announced that he has enlisted in the United States Army after completing Basic Combat Training, describing the achievement as the fulfilment of a personal ambition and a tribute to his late father, who served in the Nigeria Police Force.

Momodu shared the news in an Instagram post, where he reflected on the demands of the 10-week training programme. He said the experience pushed him physically and mentally, requiring resilience, discipline and determination before he graduated and began serving in the US Army.

The actor said he now serves as Specialist (SPC) J.A. Momodu with the 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3-10, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He added that the journey was one of the most challenging experiences of his life but one he was determined to complete.

According to Momodu, his enlistment also carried personal significance. He revealed that he chose to honour the memory of his late father by continuing a family tradition of public service, 20 years after his father’s passing.

“I picked up the baton where he left off in the Nigerian Police Force and carried it forward by getting enlisted into the United States Army,” he wrote.

Momodu also said he was grateful to God for helping him complete the training after passing the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) examination on his first attempt. He dedicated the achievement to his late father and the Royal Family of Oba Momodu II, the Avyuele Clan in Agbede, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

He also expressed appreciation to his social media manager and the US Army Recruiting Station in Burbank, California, for supporting him throughout the enlistment process, saying the milestone marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
