LeBron James is scheduled to make two appearances at Fanatics Fest in New York this week as speculation continues over where the NBA’s all-time leading scorer will play next season following his reported departure from the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 41-year-old four-time NBA champion is expected to attend the sports fan festival at the Javits Center, where he will participate in live recordings of two of his popular shows. His appearances come as his NBA future remains unresolved after indicating he intends to continue his career with another team in what would be his 24th NBA season.
On Thursday, James is set to record a live episode of his Mind the Game podcast alongside Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton. He is also scheduled to record an episode of The Shop on Friday, having appeared at the event last year to discuss the programme.
James has not publicly announced which franchise he plans to join next season. However, his agent, Rich Paul, has indicated that the leading contenders include the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers and Golden State Warriors.
Any announcement regarding his next destination at Fanatics Fest would draw significant attention, recalling his widely publicised 2010 television special, The Decision, during which he revealed he would leave the Cleveland Cavaliers to join the Miami Heat.
That move saw James team up with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade in Miami, where the trio won two NBA championships. The decision also marked the beginning of a run that took James to eight consecutive NBA Finals.
