The Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Minna, Most Rev. Dr. Luka Sylvester Gopep, has called on members of the Honoured Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria to see themselves as ambassadors of Christ and the Church by promoting truth, integrity and positive leadership in Nigeria’s political space.
Bishop Gopep made the call during the recent Endowment Fundraising Programme organised by the Abuja Metro of the Honoured Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria in Abuja.
Addressing the gathering, the cleric urged Knights occupying leadership and public service positions to use their influence to change the country’s political narrative for the benefit of ordinary Nigerians.
He said the values of truth, justice and selfless service, which define the Order, should be reflected in the conduct of its members in both public and private life.
According to him, the Knights are uniquely positioned to contribute to nation-building by promoting good governance, accountability and policies that improve the welfare of the common man.
Bishop Gopep noted that the Order’s longstanding commitment to charity, philanthropy and community development has demonstrated its dedication to creating a more just and equitable society.
He observed that for more than 70 years, the Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria have distinguished themselves through humanitarian service and unwavering support for the Church and society, urging members to build on that legacy by becoming agents of positive change in Nigeria.
The bishop further encouraged all Knights to remain steadfast in defending the truth and upholding Christian values while contributing meaningfully to efforts aimed at strengthening democracy and fostering national development.
The Endowment Fundraising Programme brought together Knights, Catholic faithful and other dignitaries in support of initiatives aimed at sustaining the charitable, evangelical and developmental activities of the Honoured Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba Nigeria.
