Nasarawa Assembly receives State Police Bill, approves five additional Special Advisers for Governor Sule, raising appointments to 25.
The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, says it would debate on the State Police Bill transmitted by the National Assembly in a date to be announced by the House.
Dr. Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the House stated this while reading the letter sent to the House by the Clerk of the National Assembly during the House proceedings in Lafia, the state capital.
The speaker promised that the Assembly would give the bill the necessary legislative attention.
According to him, “We will slate a date for us to debate on the bill soon.”
Dr. Jatau, while reading the letter said the bill was received from the Clerk of the National Assembly on Friday, September 18, 2026.
In a related development, the Nasarawa State House of Assembly has approved the request of Governor Abdullahi Sule for the appointment of 5 additional Special Advisers to make it 25 in the State.
Dr. Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the House gave the approval after he read Gov. Sule’s letter requesting the approval of the House to appoint additional five Special Advisers to make 25 Special Advisers in the State.
Dr. Jatau while reading Sule’s letter said that the Governor said those to be appointed are people with proven integrity, experience and would add value to his administration.
Suleiman Yakubu-Azara, the Majority Leader moved a motion for the approval of Gov. Sule’s request.
Jonah Ali-Dizaho, the Deputy Minority Leader seconded the motion.
The House unanimously approved five additional Special Advisers.
Furthermore, the House received a letter from Governor Abdullahi Sule to put on hold a private member bill to amend A Law for a Bill to Establish Nasarawa State Education Trust Fund.
