Manchester City midfielder, Rodri, has revealed that the first call he received after winning the 2024 Ballon d’Or was from Spain team-mate, Dani Carvajal.

Carvajal was not present at Monday’s ceremony, as Real Madrid snubbed the gala after they were informed Vinicius Junior would not win the award.

However, Carvajal who also plays with Vinicius, reached out to Rodri to congratulate him

“I talked to Carvajal, he deserved it too!

“The first call I received when I left the gala was from him.

“He’s a player with whom I’m very close, even more so now with the injury. He’s a player who shares the same values as me, he congratulated me,” Rodri told Marca.
