Obasanjo Backs Air Peace with Lagos–London Gatwick Flight

Former President Obasanjo flies Air Peace to London, strengthening confidence in the airline’s expanding international operations globally.

Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo flew aboard Air Peace’s Boeing 777-200ER from Lagos to London Gatwick on Friday, May 8, 2026, in a move seen as another strong endorsement of Nigeria’s leading indigenous carrier.

Obasanjo was received at the airline’s Premium Lounge at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport by Air Peace Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Allen Onyema.

Onyema described it as a profound honour to host and transport the former Nigerian leader on the airline’s flagship United Kingdom route.

He reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and world-class services connecting Nigeria with major international destinations.

The Air Peace chairman later personally accompanied Obasanjo to the aircraft before departure for London Gatwick.

The development further highlights growing public confidence in Air Peace’s international operations as the airline continues expanding its global footprint and projecting Nigerian excellence within the aviation industry.

According to the airline, the visit reflects increasing recognition of its role in strengthening Nigeria’s presence on the global aviation stage.
