The Abuja Metropolitan Council of the Order of Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria has admitted 80 new members into the Catholic lay organisation, comprising 40 brothers and 40 sisters.
The admission ceremony, held at Rex Christus College within the premises of Christ the King Catholic Church, Kubwa, Abuja, brought together clergy, Supreme Council officers, Metropolitan Council executives, Sub-council leaders, family members and other Catholic faithful.
The ceremony was presided over by the Metro Grand Knight, Sir Johnson Jimoh, KSG, KSM, who charged the new members to demonstrate their commitment to the Catholic faith through their conduct, service and dedication to humanity.
Addressing the initiates, Jimoh reminded them that membership of the Order goes beyond wearing its distinctive regalia.
“Be of good courage. Always remember that the hood does not make the monk.”
He urged the new members to cultivate humility, defend the Catholic faith and dedicate themselves to serving the needy and supporting the Church’s apostolate.
According to him, joining KSM should translate into a life of faith, unity, fraternity and charity rather than merely being identified with the organisation’s ceremonial attire.
Clergy, KSM Leaders Attend Admission Ceremony
Among the dignitaries at the ceremony was the Archdiocesan Chaplain, Rev. Fr. James Ali, who represented the Metro Chaplain.
Others included Supreme Warden, Sir Chinedu Enemuoh, and Metro President, Lady Agnes Enegi, alongside other executive officers and leaders of the Order.
The Immediate Past Metro Grand Knight, Sir Michael Aule, congratulated the Abuja Metropolitan Council on its continued growth and welcomed the new members into the organisation.
Aule urged the newly admitted brothers and sisters to commit their time, talents and resources to advancing the objectives of KSM.
He specifically encouraged them to uphold the organisation’s four cardinal pillars of Faith, Unity, Fraternity and Charity.
80 New Members Strengthen Abuja KSM
The admission of the 80 new members represents a significant addition to the Abuja Metropolitan Council and is expected to further strengthen its capacity to support charitable initiatives, Catholic apostolate and community service across the metropolitan council.
The new members were formally received into the Order following the admission liturgy and other rites associated with their membership.
The Abuja Metropolitan Council reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing members who will contribute positively to the Catholic Church, society and communities through faith-driven leadership, charity and service.
