Oyo to sanction principals, parents over examination malpractices

The Oyo State Government has said the principal of schools recently delisted by the West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) for examination malpractices in the state would be sanctioned.

It also added that the parents of the students involved would also be sanctioned.

Recall that WAEC has delisted about 50 secondary schools in the state over examination malpractices.

Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Barrister Abiodun Abdu-Raheem, made the disclosure in Ibadan, the state capital.

He added that the state government would not tolerate examination malpractice. He also warned principals to desist from encouraging examination malpractice.

Abdu-Raheem said, “It should be noted that, the Oyo State Government has zero tolerance for examination malpractices, therefore, Principals and Teachers of both Private and Public Schools and parents were earlier warned to desist from any act of collaboration on examination malpractices as sanctions would be meted to concerned staff and parents”.
