GPMI tackles NLC,TUC over destruction of Air Peace operations

By Augustine Aminu

The Global Peace Movement International ,UK has condemned the deliberate massive destruction of operations of Air Peace by the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress describing it as evil.

The Management of Nigerian Airline, Air Peace has raised the alarm in a statement on Wednesday that NLC and TUC officials stormed the Lagos Airport and took over their check-in counters, disrupting all their operations due to an alleged misunderstanding they had with Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State.

President General of GPMI, Dr. Mike Uyi described the activities of NLC and TUC as the most uncharitable thing to do to an airline that has boosted Nigerian aviation.

Uyi said Air Peace has no affiliation whatsoever with the Imo State Government or Governor Uzodimma and as such said Air Peace has no business with whatever disagreement that is between them and Imo government.

“We condemn this selective attack on Air Peace, this shows clearly that the enemies of the country are at it again to frustrate Air Peace, an airline that has shown great commitment in uniting the country”.

“We vehemently oppose and condemn the ongoing deliberate mischief, calculated blackmail against Air Peace orchestrated by some criminal elements who will not want anything good for the country”.

“We advice the NLC and TUC to go back to Imo, meet with Governor Hope Uzodinma to settle their differences and leave a patriotic Nigerian and his airline alone”.

Uyi further noted that Air Peace has attained an enviable position in Sub-Saharan aviation while urging Nigerians to be grateful to the airline for what it has been doing in the aviation sector and not allow deliberate attacks that arose from utter ignorance or outright mischief.

“Air Peace deserves respect and commendation. We should not be quick to forget the good things they have done for this industry and country. Air Peace has always come to the rescue of Nigerias in any troubled county with the latest of Sudan for free”.
