Governor Alia is too economical with the truth

By Aare Abiodun Oluwarotimi

Christians are expected to speak the truth always even at the point of death but reverse is the case for the governor of Benue state, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia. A Catholic Priest for that matter.

One cannot totally say that Governor Alia has not tried in few areas. I am not his enemy but my conscience won’t let me rest if i see any truth and fail to say it. Our governor tells lies too much.

If the governor greets you “good morning”, you have to go and check your watch to be sure that it is not already 3pm. This is to tell the level of his lies ranging from security issues to economy situation in Benue state.

Few days ago, the governor went to Abuja where he told the public that insecurity had ended in his state. He also told his audiences that those in the IDPs camps had started returning to their ancestral homes.

On these two issues, a toddler in Benue state can say boldly that the governor was telling lies in Abuja. He lied to mislead the public on the security condition of Benue state. A bogus lie from a Catholic priest!

Is it not the same Benue state that fulani herdsmen have been killing innocent people everyday even till yesterday? So how has insecurity ended in such state or was Alia referring to another Benue?

Perhaps the governor doesn’t understand what insecurity means hence his continuous silence over all the killings of innocent people in the state he governs.

On IDP, i challenge the governor’s media handlers to bring just one IDP that had returned to his ancestral home to a public Television for an interview.

As far as i know, no IDP in Benue state has returned home. Rather, the IDPs camps are getting congested day in day out.

Let’s watch out for the next lie from Mr. Gomina.
