Fake money doubler allegedly murders victim after collecting car, tricycle, other items

Aliyu Yakubu, a 36-year-old man from Adamawa State, has confessed to murdering his client, identified as Bassey Isah.

Aliyu told the police that he promised Bassey to print Naira notes and make him rich overnight. He succeeded in collecting valuable items from Bassey in the process.

The items he collected at various times include three bags of maize, a Toyota Starlet car, a motorcycle, and a Carry-Go tricycle.

In a statement, the Adamawa State Police Command reported that on June 13, 2024, they arrested Aliyu Yakubu, a resident of Jalingo Daddawa village in UBA, Hong LGA, for killing Bassey Isah.

According to the statement by police spokesman, Suleiman Nguroje, after dishonestly obtaining these items from the victim, Aliyu deceived Bassey into accompanying him to a forest, where he struck him with an iron rod and buried his corpse.

“The suspect confessed to the allegations and will be charged with culpable homicide at the conclusion of the investigation,” the police stated.
