A former Niger Delta activist, Chief Anabs Sara Igbe, has weighed in on the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State involving Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
In a video shared by SYMFONI TV, speaking during an interview, Igbe said Governor Fubara has remained calm despite the tensions between both camps. According to him, if Wike were truly facing the consequences of his past political actions, Fubara would have openly confronted him by now.
Igbe argued that Fubara’s silence and restraint show that he is not interested in escalating the conflict. He maintained that the governor has neither attacked Wike publicly nor encouraged his supporters to do so. Instead, he described Fubara as humble and patient, warning that such humility should not be mistaken for weakness.
The activist also questioned claims that Fubara betrayed Wike. He challenged critics to point out any specific act of betrayal by the governor. Igbe further recalled Wike’s past political disagreements with other leaders in the state and at the national level, suggesting that those events should also be considered in the current debate.
The political tension in Rivers State intensified after President Bola Tinubu intervened in the crisis and called for peace between both sides. Despite the intervention, disagreements within the state’s political structure have continued.
In his words, “If Karma has started visiting Wike for all the betrayal he has done in this state, then Sim would have fought him.”
