Nasarawa Speaker disburses ₦60m scholarship to 1,200 students, distributes exercise books to primary schools across constituency.

Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, has disbursed ₦60 million to 1,200 students from Karu/Keffi/Kokona Federal Constituency studying in tertiary institutions across the country.

The disbursement took place in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area, under the “Rt. Hon. Dr. Danladi Jatau Scholarship Students Fund 2026 Project.”

According to the Speaker, each beneficiary received ₦50,000 to help ease the burden of tuition and other academic expenses on their parents and guardians.

“As education is key to success, that is why I have decided to assist the students with this scholarship,” Jatau said, urging beneficiaries to make judicious use of the funds to improve their academic performance.

He noted that the initiative is also aimed at complementing the efforts of Abdullahi Sule in advancing education in the state.

In addition to the scholarship, the Speaker distributed exercise books to primary schools across the constituency to support basic education.

Jatau further called on residents to remain supportive of the state government and align with its political direction ahead of the 2027 elections.

Several stakeholders, including lawmakers, local government chairmen, and education officials, commended the initiative, describing it as a significant step toward reducing the financial burden on families and improving access to education.

They also urged other public office holders and well-meaning individuals to emulate the gesture.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the support, pledging to remain committed to their studies and make the most of the opportunity.
