Former Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has clinched the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the Delta North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections after defeating businessman and politician, Ned Nwoko, in a keenly watched party contest.
Okowa secured a landslide victory with 113,309 votes, while Nwoko polled 2,612 votes in the exercise.
The outcome positions the former governor as the APC candidate for the Delta North Senatorial District in the 2027 polls, strengthening his political comeback within the ruling party.
