Bruno Fernandes Wins Premier League Player Of The Season Award

Bruno Fernandes wins Premier League Player of the Season award after matching assist record and returning Manchester United to Champions League.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named Premier League Player of the Season after a standout campaign for the club.

The 31-year-old scored 8 goals and equalled the record for most assists in a single Premier League season with 20, matching Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.

Fernandes won the award for the first time in his career and became the first Manchester United player since Nemanja Matic in the 2010/11 season to receive the honour.

He is the seventh United player to win the award, joining Peter Schmeichel, Dwight Yorke, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney on the list of winners.

Fernandes had already secured the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award and added another major accolade after helping United qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

The Portuguese midfielder beat Arsenal trio David Raya, Gabriel and Declan Rice to the award.
