The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has reassured residents of the safety of their lives and property.

A statement on Friday by the Director of Information, Muhammad Sule, said the FCT Security Committee met on Thursday.

The government assured that adequate security arrangements have been made to sustain the state of law and order.

The committee said everything possible is being done to checkmate the activities of criminally minded persons.

The meeting discussed kidnappings in rural areas of the territory including the Yaba axis in the Abaji Area Council.

The committee noted that the security agencies have adopted proactive measures to fish out the perpetrators.

The Directorate of Road Traffic Service (DRTS) gave an update on the ban on commercial motorcycles in Abuja.

On November 16, 118 commercial motorcycles impounded were crushed in Durumi District.

A total of 300 more impounded were also crushed at Area 1 under the bridge, totaling 418.
