Yahaya Bello: GPMI passes vote of confidence on Olukoyede led EFCC

Global Peace Movement International, UK
has passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the Economic Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, led by Ola Olukoyede

President General of the group, Dr. Mike Uyi in a statement in London said that the moves by Mr. Olukoyede as witnessed recently has shown his genuine desire to transform the Commission.

Uyi said the courage exhibited by the commission under Ola Olukoyede to prosecute the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has shown that no body is above the law.

“We at GPMI applaud the EFCC and it’s chairman for showing capacity in the case of the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello. It shows that the commission has no favoritism and it’s willing to prosecute all cases of financial misappropriation in the country”.

Uyi cautioned that Nigeria will not condone negative campaigns and protests against the EFCC as it’s concerns Yahaya Bello and other Nigerians who are involved in any form of financial crimes.

“We have followed Mr. Ola Olukoyede since he became the chairman of the Commission, his zeal and passion for his job to stamp out corruption is unrivaled.

“EFCC is a government organ that is independent and founded to fight curruption and will not and cannot favour anyone once found guilty”.

“Let me make it clear that EFCC is an organization that has the right to invite anybody that has been libel with financial curruption.

“As the youngest governor in Kogi state, we are all witnesses to all his activities from non payment of salaries, misappropriation of government funds, intimidation among other issues. Those who are rallying round evil should stop”

While assuring Olukoyede of the group’s support, he said, “the fight against corruption is not just for Olukoyede alone, it is for each and every one of us and we believe that this fight is to secure a positive future for our dear country”.
