Delegates from the North-central states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will on Wednesday converge at Lafia, Nasarawa State capital for the zonal congress of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the party’s National Convention slated for March 27 and 28 in Abuja.
The notice of the Congress was contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by the party’s National Vice Chairman (North Central) Hon. Mu’azu Bawa Rijau in Abuja.
The National Vice Chairman said the congress will hold at Akwe Doma Banquet Hall, Government House, Lafia, Nasarawa State on Wednesday 25th of March, 2026 by 10 am.
According to Rijau, the Congress would afford delegates from the region, which consists of Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau and the FCT to review the activities of the party in the region and form a common front to the National Convention.
While assuring delegates of their safety, the APC leader advised all delegates to arrive on time to enable the Congress address all issues slated for the Congress on time.
The notice then listed the delegates for the Congress, in line with Article 12.7 of the party’s constitution to include Zonal Chairman, all Past Zonal Chairmen of the Party, all Zonal Executive Officers, serving and past State Governors from the zone who are of the Party, and serving and former Members of the National Assembly (Senate and House of Reps) who are APC Members.
Other statutory delegates to the Zonal congress are serving and Past Principal Officers of State House of Assembly from the zone who are members of the Party, State Party Chairmen from the Zone, all members of the National Executive Committee from the zone, all National Caucus members from the zone and other statutory delegates to National Convention
