Air Peace delays London-bound flight after technical check detects fault, while affected passengers receive accommodation and assistance.
Peace has announced a temporary disruption to its scheduled Lagos–London Gatwick service after a routine post-boarding technical check detected what the airline described as a minor aircraft fault.
In a statement issued by its management, the airline explained that the issue was discovered after passengers had already boarded the aircraft for the international service.
According to the airline, the aircraft was immediately withdrawn from operation in line with aviation safety procedures, while passengers were safely disembarked.
The airline stated that the decision reflected its commitment to passenger safety and adherence to global aviation standards.
“Following the completion of passenger boarding, a routine post-boarding technical check identified a minor aircraft fault that required immediate attention. In line with our uncompromising commitment to safety and global aviation standards, the aircraft was promptly withdrawn from service and passengers safely disembarked,” the statement said.
Air Peace acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the disruption but maintained that prioritising safety over operational schedules remained necessary.
The airline disclosed that affected passengers were promptly informed of the development and provided with support, including hotel accommodation and other assistance.
To reduce further delays, the airline said a replacement aircraft would be dispatched from London to operate the service.
“We deeply appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation shown by our passengers during this period. Their trust remains incredibly important to us,” the airline added.
Air Peace reaffirmed its commitment to delivering safe and reliable flight operations at all times.
