From Housing Deficit to 3,000 Jobs: Gbadewole Kayode’s Crown Allied Global Realty Launches The Embassy

For Dr Gbadewole Kayode, the Chief Executive Officer of Crown Allied Global Realty, tackling Nigeria’s housing crisis is not only about constructing buildings it is also about creating jobs, opening investment opportunities and making home ownership more accessible.

That vision took a major step forward on Saturday as Crown Allied Global Realty held the groundbreaking ceremony for The Embassy, a 2,400-unit housing estate in Wasa District, Abuja.

Kayode, who is also the Vice President of the Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN), Abuja Chapter, said the project was driven by the need to contribute to reducing Nigeria’s estimated 14.98 million-unit housing deficit.

“We are committed to reducing the housing deficit, especially in the FCT,” he said.»

But housing delivery is only one part of the project’s expected impact.

According to Kayode, more than 3,000 jobs are expected to be created as The Embassy takes shape.

The employment opportunities will cut across different areas of construction and estate development. Kayode pointed out that the construction of just one duplex can require the services of more than 30 workers.

With 2,400 housing units planned, he said the employment potential of the project would be substantial.

Making Home Ownership Easier

Crown Allied Global Realty is also targeting affordability.

Kayode disclosed that the company had introduced flexible payment arrangements that would allow low-income earners to make part payments and spread the remaining balance over six months.

Mortgage options will also be available through partnerships with the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria and other Primary Mortgage Institutions.

A Smart, Solar-Powered Community

The Embassy is designed to go beyond the traditional concept of a housing estate.

Kayode said the project would incorporate smart-estate features, including electricity, solar power and electric vehicle charging facilities.

The entire estate, he added, is expected to be powered by solar energy.

Its location is also strategic, with the development targeting buyers and investors seeking modern communities within approximately 15 to 20 minutes of Abuja city centre.

20 Hectares for Business and Investment

The project will also feature a commercial district covering about 20 hectares.

The area is expected to accommodate hotels, shopping malls and other businesses, while providing investors with opportunities to acquire land and develop income-generating properties.

Kayode said investors could benefit from rental and lease opportunities as the commercial component develops.

For prospective homeowners and investors, he further provided assurance on the project’s documentation, stating that the land has a Certificate of Occupancy issued by the Federal Capital Development Authority.

The groundbreaking ceremony, attended by real estate stakeholders, officially marked the beginning of what Gbadewole Kayode and Crown Allied Global Realty describe as a major housing, employment and investment project for Abuja.
