Internet Fraudster Tortures Apprentices For Failing To Meet Target

A suspected cyber crime fraudster, Precious Mayor, and three other accomplices identified as Prince Afam, Israel Simon, and Emmanuela Mayor have been arrested for alleged hostage-taking at Igbogbo in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

The victims were said to have traveled from Imo State to receive instruction in cyber fraud from Mayor. However, when they failed to meet their targets just a few days into their apprenticeship, Mayor reportedly confined them to a room and subjected them to physical harm.

The Lagos State Police Command arrested the suspect on Tuesday, August 26, along with three other individuals identified as his accomplices: Prince Afam, Israel Simon, and Emmanuela Mayor, who is Simon’s wife.

Confirming the incident to our correspondent in a telephone conversation, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Sp Benjamin Hundeyin said, “The victims were tortured and deprived of their freedom. The arrested suspects have been moved to the State Criminal Investigation Department.”
